Amanda Holden 'shocked' as she's pulled over by police while driving in Italy

Amanda Holden and Alan Carr had their hearts in their mouths after being pulled over by police in Italy while filming their BBC show.

The celebrity pals were in the middle of filming their BBC renovation show titled Amanda & Alan's Italian Job when the incident occurred in Sicily.

Alan was first to notice the police car's flashing lights with Amanda in the driving seat. He said: "Oh no, no what's this? We're pulled over, what does it mean?"

"Are you joking? What am I doing? I'm being pulled over by the police. This is hilarious," a nervous Amanda replied. "I wasn't going too fast was I? What do I need to do?"

As the Britain's Got Talent judge stepped out of the car, Alan joked that she would "end up on that show Banged Up Abroad".

Following a short delay, Amanda returned to the car to explain that it was a random check by the officer.

Alan said: "I can't believe that just happened, can you?" To which Amanda replied: "I feel like we've had the full Sicilian experience. The fact that I'd done nothing. I was so shocked."

The Chatty Man host tried to the lighten the mood, saying: "He was really severe. My fantasy of being pulled over by a hunky Italian policeman... it is ruined it for me.

"You loved it though. I noticed they had a gun. Now that terrifies me."

Amanda cheekily responded: "I noticed they had handcuffs," with Alan rolling his eyes as he replied: "Yeah, alright."

The TV show saw the long-term friends buy a dilapidated two-bedroom flat in Salemi, Sicily for one euro before renovating it for a profit, which will be split between Comic Relief and Children in Need.

They have transformed the site into a stunning getaway over a three month period and has since gone on the market for a whopping £127,500.

On Rightmove, the listing references the "spacious lounge, dining room, and kitchen" and adds: "The three balconies offer breathtaking views of the landscape, making this the perfect spot to watch the sunset.

"It also comes with a shared, walled courtyard, perfect for al fresco dining or just enjoying the Mediterranean sunshine."

The TV pair each designed a bathroom and bedroom and tackled the kitchen and living room together, marrying modern with traditional, and using a theme of neutral colours mixed with greens and pinks.

The series has pulled in 4.5million viewers with the BBC planning a second run for next year in a different location.
