Amanda Holden still hopes her daughter goes to university while chasing showbiz career

Amanda Holden is supporting her eldest child's desire to focus on books as well as looks, after the teenage beauty was signed to the same modelling agency that made Kate Moss a star.

Lexi Holden, who is the spitting image of the TV presenter, is predicted to earn as much as £1million in her first 12 months as a model, but Amanda's mini-me is keen to complete her studies first.

The Britain's Got Talent judge's daughter was approached by fashion bosses last year, but mum Amanda has revealed they're waited until the teenager turned 16 in January before signing anything.

Amanda - who has previously joked she is a Kris Jenner type momager - also explained that modelling is actually something Lexi wants to do and she is letting her daughter made her own decisions about her blossoming career.

"She's a very quiet girl but she knows her own mind. She's very bright and wants to continue her studies," she proudly told The Sun.

"She's got her eyes set on university and she has so many ambitions. We want them all to come true for her as any parent would.

The Heart Breakfast presenter added: "There's no pressure and we'll just see what happens. But finishing her education is very much her plan, she’ll have our support whatever she decides to do."

Lexi signed on the dotted line with Storm modelling agency - who scouted Catwalk Queen Kate - after several other top agencies were reportedly keen to snap the budding star up.

Thanks to Amanda's many Instagram snaps over the years, many fans have noted Lexi's beauty and remarkable resemblance to her stunning mother.

"3 super models," designer Melissa Odabash quipped under one of Amanda's snaps with her two daughters on Instagram last year.

Speaking in the past, Amanda has confessed that her eldest daughter often encourages her to flash the flesh and helps her pick out some of her 'controversial' outfits on ITV show Britain's Got Talent.

"If I'm trying on outfits for shows I'll say to Lexi: 'Is there too much side-boob?' or 'Is this too much?' and she'll grin and say: 'Go for it, Mum'," the mum-of-two told You magazine in March 2021.

Amanda and husband Chris Hughes welcomed Lexi - real name Alexa Hughes - into the world in 2006, tying the knot at Babington House, Somerset two years later.

The star then became pregnant with a second child in 2010 but sadly suffered a unimaginable tragedy, with her son being born stillborn at seven months old in 2011.

The following year, the couple were delighted to give birth to second daughter Hollie Rose Hughes, now 11, in 2012 following medical complications.
