Amanda Holden's raciest Britain's Got Talent looks and dress that broke Ofcom records

We don't know who will win this year's series of Britain's Got Talent this Sunday, but we can safely bet judge Amanda Holden will likely send pulses races with a sexy outfit for the show's grand finale.

Amanda has a history of shocking ITV viewers with her boundary-pushing risqué outfits - and the judge has continued that trend throughout the latest series of the talent contest.

The TV star and radio presenter, who turned 51 this year, said she hates the phrase 'dressing for your age' and has no plans to ever tone down her looks, despite sparking controversy over the years.

The mum-of-two said that Britain's Got Talent is the perfect show to "take risks", revealing that she draws fashion inspiration from the likes of J-Lo and Kylie Minogue.

Despite Amanda's love to stir the pot, some of her more outrageous looks on the family show have landed her in hot water previously.

In 2017, one gown saw her rack up a record breaking 663 official complaints to Ofcom, and another a few years later drew in 235.

But refusing to let this bother her, she hit back and said: "I'm thinking more rubber - I enjoyed wearing latex in the auditions, so I'm thinking more latex, more sweating in the lives."

Amanda also insisted that her mum Judith Harrison told her that she "looked better than girls half her age" as she urged her to 'let people talk.'

"When my mum was 48 she wouldn’t have dared wear a mini skirt, because she’s of the era where you wouldn’t dare get your knees out if you were nearly 50.

"Whereas I look at Kylie and J-Lo and think, well if she’s still doing it, I’m still doing it," she said at the time.

"Of course, I have fun on Britain’s Got Talent - it’s the perfect opportunity to take risks. Times have changed and I don’t feel anyone should feel pressure to dress for your age. It’s all about body positivity and feeling good."

We take a look at some of the dresses that sparked fury with viewers and even led to Ofcom complaints.

Bespoke thigh-flashing gown - 2022

For the second live Britain's Got Talent semi-final on Tuesday night, Amanda went all out with a stunning bespoke gown - flashing a bit of thigh in the process.

The Heart Breakfast host wowed viewers when she walked out on stage in a purple plunging dress featuring a daring thigh-split and a racy jeweled bra.

Sharing details of the Suzanne Neville number with her fans on Instagram, Amanda's celebrity pals rushed to compliment the star on yet another breathtaking ensemble.

"WOWZA!!!!!!" Jess Wright gushed to the star, while former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison commented: "I can't cope with you [love-heart eyes emoji]."

Julian Macdonald gown - 2017

It was the plunging neckline on this stunning £11,000 gown that appeared to tip people over the edge.

The judge took to the stage in the Julian Mcdonald dress, which revealed most of Amanda's chest and stomach.

Despite looking incredible, Amanda's choice wasn't a popular one and it amassed record-breaking 663 Ofcom complaints.

But Amanda refused to pay attention to the haters who took a disliking to the dress.

"That dress was hysterical – it was Julien Macdonald. I had bits of fish wire underneath my breasts trying to hold that together.

"But, look, I'm from a small-chest family, plus you know I'm 48 years old. It's all quite laughable, but all everyone seems to talk about."

"It's been called another national crisis – but, oh no, I will not be covered up," she went on to joke."

One furious fan tweeted: "So Amanda is effectively topless on Britain's Got Talent."

Another added: "What the hell is Amanda wearing on BGT, totally NOT suitable."

"Does Amanda Holden know this is a family show and she doesn't need to dress like a stripper #BGT."

Ofcom decided not to investigate the complaints.

Pink latex dress - 2022

Following Britain's Got Talent's hiatus from our screens due to the coronavirus pandemic, Amanda made sure to treat viewers when it returned to our screens earlier this year.

The eternally glamourous star wowed viewers in a sexy skintight latex midi dress during one of the audition episodes back in April - showing off her incredible figure in the long-sleeved number.

Amanda's bold latex number featured ruffled shoulder pads and a low square cut neckline which showed off a hint of cleavage.

The star completed her daring look with some matching hot pink heels and kept her blonde tresses super straight, rocking a face full of makeup as she appeared on stage to help one of the show's hopeful's out with their audition.

'Distracting' glitzy gown - 2022

Amanda stole the show at the start of this week, when she stepped out to judge the first live semi-final of this year's series of Britain's Got Talent in an eye-catching gown.

The star's glamourous look on Monday night consisted of Rami Kadi gown that swooped across one shoulder, with a daring thigh-high split showing off her toned pins.

The mum-of-two wore her blonde tresses in a wet-look style and kept her accessories to a minimum.

Some cheeky social media users even joked Amanda's jaw-dropping look 'distracted' them from watching the performances on stage during Monday's night edition of the ITV show.

The spiderweb dress - 2019

A few years later Amanda stepped out in a lace dress with a spider web covering one of her breasts.

As well as the sheer dress revealing half of her torso and side of her hip, the gown had a flower pattern running up the legs, covering her from below the navel.

Ofcom got nine complaints over this Nicolas Jebran dress by viewers who deemed it "inappropriate" for a family show.

However, the governing body once again decided against investigating the matter.

Underwear as outerwear

One of her dresses featured a black leotard with a high neck and then a plunging split.

With a thigh-high split, the rest of the dress was a sheer sparkly material that covered her legs and arms - but still allowed her long legs to be very much on show.

She told The Sun: "My t*ts seem to become the show's biggest talking point every year."

"Will people be complaining to Ofcom? I hope so, I really do. I haven't done my job if they aren't."

Bold in Blue

In 2020 she had another two complaints sent to Ofcom after viewers claimed they had seen Amanda's nipples.

She had chosen a stunning cut out deep blue dress, with material that covered each breast.

The frock racked up an impressive 235 complaints, with many viewers suggesting they had seen Amanda's nipples.

She took to social media to defend herself: "Mmmm, really? Who has nippled this close to their cleavage?"

"FYI, a boned corset dented the girls all night."

"Surely there are more terrible and important things to write about."

Promotional pose - 2022

Amanda set her stall out early in the year, when she posed in a racy, leg-flashing number for one of Britain's Got Talent's first promotional images.

The fashionable star looked sensational as she posed in a stunning strapless ensemble which showed off her incredibly toned pins.

Last year, Amanda explained how her two daughters are actually the brains behind her sometimes 'controversial' outfits on Britain's Got Talent.

"If I'm trying on outfits for shows I'll say to Lexi: 'Is there too much side-boob?' or 'Is this too much?' and she'll grin and say: 'Go for it, Mum'," she told You magazine in March 2021.

Lacy finale gown - 2020

A lot happened in 2020 but somehow, in a year of lifechanging events, Amanda still managed to upset some people with her sexy style.

Some Britain's Got Talent viewers took issue with the judge's choice of dress for one of the 2020 episode of the talent-seeking show.

Taking to the judge's panel in a "see-through" number, Amanda looked incredible as she flashed her toned legs in a thigh-split dark purple gown.

But the asymmetrical black lace bodice left some viewers fuming as they complained it was see-through and that they could see her nipples once again.

One sensitive viewer tweeted: "#BGT Jesus, Amanda, may as well have wore nothing love."

Amanda's fashion choice came just one week after Ofcom was flooded with 235 complaints after viewers suggested that her plunging neckline meant that they could see her nipples.

Yet again, Ofcom dismissed the complaint's about Amanda's outfit choices and didn't investigate matters further.
