Amanda Holden makes shopping more 'thrilling' by hiding bags

Amanda Holden has admitted she keeps a few little secrets from her husband to make shopping experiences more 'thrilling' for her.

The Britain's Got Talent judge hilariously confessed that she will sometimes hide her shopping bags from her partner, producer Chris Hughes.

Known for impressive fashion choices and outfits, Amanda will no doubt have an enviable wardrobe, but she told listeners to her Heart Breakfast radio show that husband Chris doesn't always know when she's bought something new.

The 51-year-old said hiding her shopping bags was “part of the thrill of the shop”.

She said: "After work I had a few little errands to run and I just sort of accidentally found myself in a department store. Well the wind sort of blew me in.

"The wind blew me in, there were still these massive red signs saying: ‘SALE’ so I went everywhere and I bought a few bits and bobs, which I don’t need, but I find myself doing this thing all the time…"

Her co-host JK jokingly played the Pink Panther theme song, as he said: "Well I know you very well, and I know you’re a sneaky little so and so."

Amanda replied: "I am a sneaky little Pink Panther! I literally bought a load of stuff I don’t need, got in, could see my husband’s car was still in and was like: ‘What’s he still doing here, he should be at the office?’"

"And then I could hear him he was on a Zoom call, he was speaking to someone important and I snuck up the stairs and I hid all my bags in the back of the wardrobe!

"I don’t know why I do it! It’s my credit card, it’s my money! But I think it’s part of the thrill of the shop. It’s like trying to hide it away from him."

She added: "Because I can get away with it, he’ll go: ‘Is that new?’ and I’m like: ‘No! God no I’ve had that for ages’."
