Amanda Holden has swapped the UK for the USA after a backlash to her comments about the late Paul O'Grady.
Tributes to the Birkenhead-born icon have flooded in from around the world the since he died on Tuesday. Amanda was friends with Paul and shared a tribute on her Heart Radio show.
She said: "You know what I loved about him? He was not woke in any way. He had massive opinions on everything." However, the description has been met with confusion as the dictionary definition of "woke" is someone who is "very aware of social and political unfairness".

Paul has been lauded as a champion of the underdog as he was a huge supporter of LGBTQ+ rights and a fierce critic of the Conservative government. And many of his fans have hit back at Amanda's comments.
In a tongue-in-cheek post, one fan said: "That’s exactly the first thing that sprung to mind when I thought of Paul O’Grady, not his love of dogs or Lily Savage or his Liverpool Socialism, but his hatred of 'wokery'", while another said: "He was very socially aware, concerned, and conscious. That’s what woke means"
Amanda, 52, has not yet addressed the backlash, but her latest social media update shows she has jetted off abroad. She shared a short video on her Instagram story on Friday showing what looked to be a college campus in America.
Captioning the clip she simply said: "It's USA uni time".
