Amanda Holden gifts Simon Cowell stabilisers after horror bike crash and injuries

Amanda Holden has gifted Simon Cowell a pair of training wheels after he crashed his bike.

The media mogul, 62, was rushed to hospital this week after another e-bike accident - the second in 18 months.

Amanda, 50, told her Heart Breakfast radio listeners she was going to buy Simon a pair of stabilisers to stop him doing anymore damage - and now she has.

Sharing a pic of the former X Factor judge opening the red training wheels, Amanda said: "So I bought @simoncowell some stabilisers," followed by laughing face emoji.

She added: "He loved them."

Amanda caught up with Simon to celebrate his son Eric's birthday and shared a snap on her Instagram Stories with the star's fiance Lauren Silverman.

Amanda's co-host Ashley Roberts, 40, said on the breakfast show: "We spoke about the fact that Simon Cowell had another accident on his bike didn't we…now he said he's not going to get on bikes ever again, which I think is a smart thing to do."

However she then joked: "Unless he gets a little tricycle with a bell, where he can ring and warn people."

Speaking for the first time after his accident, Simon told the MailOnline on Wednesday: "I'm OK. I'm feeling much better thank you. It happened just round the corner.

'I'm a bit of a nutter. I'll definitely wear a helmet next time."

A workman who had been renovating a property near where the incident happened told the publication: "He nearly bumped into me the other day. You often see him racing about on his bike although I must admit I haven't seen him on it for a few days. Now I know why."

The multimillionaire had to be helped by three onlookers who stopped the traffic while an ambulance was called to the scene.

It was discovered that Simon suffered a fractured arm after skidding at 20mph and flying over his handlebars into the middle of the road.

On Tuesday a source told The Sun: “Simon is lucky to be alive."

The father-of-one told waiting reporters' for ITV outside his London home that he 'didn't remember much' about what happened, but considers himself lucky and praised the three passers-by, who stopped the traffic and aided his recovery.
