Amanda Holden dresses as a princess and rides round East London in a carriage

Amanda Holden stunned onlookers as she was spotted dressed as a princess and riding round East London in a carriage.

The 52-year-old looked gorgeous in the medieval-style gold gown, adorned with jewels, waving to passers-by while in a grand carriage with footmen.

But something was amiss with Amanda’s outfit, as it appeared she was clutching her mobile phone while in the regal carriage.

However, it emerged the Britain's Got Talent judge was filming an advert for a new mobile phone game in the car park of Tesco.

Avery animated Amanda was in character as she waved elegantly from her carriage, with her manicured nails and perfectly tousled blonde hair.

Her appearance comes days after she revealed she was devastated as her youngest daughter Hollie, 11, finished prep school and was heading to secondary.

The TV star, who shares Hollie and Lexi, 17, with husband Chris Hughes, told listeners on her Heart Radio show she was sobbing at the school gates while her bewildered daughter tried to calm her down.

“I went down to the prep gate of my daughter's school yesterday to watch her and all her little friends who she's been at that school with since she was four leave.

"And they all came out of the gates, all in tears… except my daughter,” Amanda explained.

“It was like, 'I don't know why everyone's crying, mummy, we're gonna see them in year seven in the mix school'. And I'm like, 'it's an end of an era,’” she wailed.

Amanda then confessed she and the other school mums took part in a boozy picnic to celebrate - and commiserate - the end of term.

“Every year me and my lovely school mums who I also couldn't live without all go to the park have a picnic. A liquid picnic,” she giggled.

Amanda laughed as co-host Jamie Theakston quizzed her about the picnic, with the Tv star eventually confessing she was on a seven-hour bender.
