Amanda Holden ditches UK to join America's Got Talent

Amanda Holden has swapped the UK for Hollywood as she enjoys herself across the pond.

The 52-year-old jetted across the Atlantic at the end of March, amid a backlash to her comments about the late Paul O'Grady.

Tributes to the Birkenhead-born icon have flooded in from around the world since he died on Tuesday, March 28. Amanda was friends with Paul and shared a tribute on her Heart Radio show.

She said: "You know what I loved about him? He was not woke in any way. He had massive opinions on everything." However, the description has been met with confusion as the dictionary definition of "woke" is someone who is "very aware of social and political unfairness".

Paul has been lauded as a champion of the underdog as he was a huge supporter of LGBTQ+ rights and a fierce critic of the Conservative government. And many of his fans hit back at Amanda's comments at the time.

On Thursday, Amanda shared a snap of herself on the America's Got Talent judging panel alongside Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara. Captioning the post on Instagram, she simply said: "When @bgt meets @agt".

But it appears to be a flying visit, as the new series of BGT appears on our screens this weekend, with Amanda returning alongside Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon, and new judge Bruno Tonioli.
