Amanda Holden and Geri Horner have joined millions of proud parents across the UK today celebrating GCSE results day.

There were exciting scenes at schools around the country today as teenagers discovered the results of their hard work throughout a difficult year.

Holden, 51, and Halliwell, 50, couldn’t have been more delighted for their children as they received their GCSE results.

Halliwell expressed her happiness as her daughter, Bluebell Madonna, 16, obtained nine A* grades.

The pop star’s daughter could be seen in a photo shared on Instagram beaming as she glanced at her results, with the caption: “So proud of you Blue! All A!! 9 GCSES! You worked so hard! You inspire me! Girl power!!!!!”

Halliwell shares daughter Bluebell with her ex, British-American film director Sasha Gervasi, 56.

The former Spice Girl also has son Montague, five, with her husband, British former racing driver Christian Horner, 48.

Holden shared her joy at her daughter Lexi’s results, although she did not disclose what marks the up-and-coming model, 16, received.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge posted a photo showing herself punching the air as she sat in her garden, writing: “Me when we got Lexi’s results this morning. She smashed it. So proud of our girl.”

Holden sent her well wishes to students the night before, as she shared a picture of clouds on Instagram Stories, with the caption: “Good luck to all GCSE-ers.”

Thursday morning saw the announcement of GCSE results in the country. It’s been reported that high grades have decreased by a record amount this year, although they were considerably better than results recorded before the pandemic.

England, Wales, and Northern Ireland saw top grades of 7/A or above fall from 28.9 per cent in 2021 to 26.3 per cent this year. GCSE results recorded from 2019 remain lower, though, at 20.8 per cent.

Halliwell campaigned to have a new free school set up specialising in arts and business in 2015, and met with officials at Downing Street and the Department for Education as she pushed the project.

Halliwell told the Mail on Sunday at the time: “I believe in education. It’s an empowering fundamental human right that everyone deserves. Education is a foundation for life.”
