Amanda Holden and Alan Carr attract police attention as they drive in Sicily on their Italian Job

Celebrities Amanda Holden and Alan Carr had a brush with the law while filming their flat renovation show in Italy. The pals were in Sicily making their BBC show Amanda & Alan's Italian Job when a cop pulled their car over.

A nervous Amanda's first thought was if she was speeding, The Mirror reports. When the Britain's Got Talent judge stepped out of the car, Alan joked that she would "end up on that show Banged Up Abroad". But after a short delay, Amanda returned to the car to explain that it was a random check by the officer.

Alan said: "I can't believe that just happened, can you?" To which Amanda replied: "I feel like we've had the full Sicilian experience. The fact that I'd done nothing. I was so shocked."

The Chatty Man host tried to the lighten the mood, saying: "He was really severe. My fantasy of being pulled over by a hunky Italian policeman... it is ruined it for me. You loved it though. I noticed they had a gun. Now that terrifies me."

Amanda cheekily responded: "I noticed they had handcuffs," with Alan rolling his eyes as he replied: "Yeah, alright."

The TV show saw the long-term friends buy a dilapidated two-bedroom flat in Salemi, Sicily for one euro before renovating it for a profit, which will be split between Comic Relief and Children in Need.

Amanda and Alan have transformed the site into a stunning getaway over a three-month period and has since gone on the market for £127,500. The series pulled in 4.5million viewers and the BBC is planning a second run for next year in a different location.
