Amanda Holden let slip a little secret about her marriage on Heart Breakfast this morning.
The mum-of-two, 51, was talking about her husband Chris Hughes to DJ Jason King, who was standing in for Jamie Theakston, also 51.
In a segment Jason dubbed 'couple's therapy', Amanda explained that when Chris is away on business trips - she often redecorates the house.
She revealed: "I’ve redecorated the house when Chris went on business trips, I ripped out a bathroom, I’ve put new tiles on the wall, because he says no to everything, because he doesn’t want the agro of it.'
Jason quipped: "It's his own fault!"
Amanda agreed, saying: "Exactly! And then he comes home and he’ll go 'I have to say Mandy, you’ve done a great job it looks great.'"
The Britain's Got Talent judge, who shares daughters Lexi, 16 and Hollie, 10, with her husband revealed there's another secret she likes to keep from her man.
Speaking about her love of retail therapy, Amanda joked that the wind had 'blown her into a department store' yesterday.
She explained: "I literally bought a load of stuff I don’t need, got in, could see my husband’s car was still in and was like “what’s he still doing here, he should be at the office?”, and then I could hear him he was on a Zoom call.
"He was speaking to someone important and I snuck up the stairs and I hid all my bags in the back of the wardrobe!
"I don’t know why I do it! It’s my credit card, it’s my money! But I think it’s part of the thrill of the shop. It’s like trying to hide it away from him."
Amanda and her family recently celebrated her birthday at a far-flung luxury location.
The age-defying star looked incredible sporting a red bikini, holding a bunch of balloons.
Telling her followers she was "spoilt", Amanda received well wishes from her Heart colleague Ashley Roberts.
The Pussycat Doll gushed: "You special sassy senorita!! You got a big place ij (in) my hearts sister!! Ya!!"
In a recent chat with You magazine, the Portsmouth-born star said she had no plans to 'grow old gracefully'.
"Who says that once you reach a certain age women have to dress a certain way, act a certain way? I don’t believe in those rules," she stated.
"You do what makes you happy, what puts a smile on your face and, to be honest, you have got to an age where you care a lot less about what people think."
Heart Breakfast is on weekdays from 06:30 – 10:00
