Amadou Onana's omission from Everton's Premier League squad list explained
Everton ’s biggest signing of the summer Amadou Onana has not been included within the club’s official 25-man squad for this season but Blues fans needn’t panic. After the closure of the summer 2022 transfer window, each of the 20 teams in the Premier League submitted their squad lists which must have a maximum of 25 players of which no more than 17 cannot fulfil the ‘Home Grown Player’ (HGP) criteria while they can also submit an additional list of registered Under-21 players.

Onana, who joined Everton for £33.5million from Lille last month, has been named in the secondary list for Frank Lampard ’s side of Under-21 players with competition rules stating that an Under-21 player is defined as one who is under the age of 21 on January 1 in the year the season commences (in this case January 1, 2022).
Therefore, despite Onana celebrating his 21 st birthday on August 16, a week after he signed for the Blues, he qualifies for that category along with fellow new boy James Garner (who turned 21 on March 13) and Anthony Gordon (21 on February 24) plus Nathan Patterson who is still 20 and isn’t 21 until October 16.

'I'm tranquilo' - Alex Iwobi describes how he stayed cool in 'wild' Everton moment
Alex Iwobi has detailed what was going through his mind as he scored the most important goal of his Everton career so far.
The midfielder popped up in the 99th minute of a home clash with Newcastle United back in March, with the Blues down to 10 men thanks to Allan's controversial red card, and slotted in the winner to spark bedlam at Goodison Park. The victory proved crucial to the Premier League survival of Lampard's side in what was generally a dismal campaign.
It was the biggest moment of Iwobi's time on Merseyside and helped propel him into now being a fan favourite. And, speaking in a lengthy chat with evertontv, the 26-year-old described his thoughts before the goal and his calm emotions after putting the ball in the back of the net.
