Amad speaks out after leaving Manchester United on loan

Amad says Sunderland are "the best team" for him to continue his progression away from Manchester United.

The winger completed a move to the Championship side this week, and will stay at the Stadium of Light for the remainder of the campaign. It is thought the Wearsiders, who have unveiled Tony Mowbray as their new manager, beat off plenty of competition for the youngster's signature.

The 20-year-old is embarking on his second stint away from Old Trafford after spending the second half of last term at Rangers. Speaking to Sunderland's website, Amad said: "I feel good and very positive about this opportunity, so I’m happy to be here.

"It was a great experience to play with Manchester United, but I’m here for a new challenge and I want to try my best to bring a lot of success to the club.

"I feel good physically and I think this is the best team for me to progress and although I’ve never been to the Stadium of Light before, I know the supporters are great so I hope we can win many games together."

Amad joined United for a fee rising to £37million on deadline day in October 2020 but has only played nine senior games for the club, scoring once. The last of those outings came against Young Boys in the Champions League last December.
