Amad Diallo Rangers 'blatant red card' claim leaves Kenny Miller floored in blunt on air response

Former Rangers striker Kenny Miller has shut down any suggestion that Amad Diallo should have been sent off against Celtic.

The Manchester United loanee was booked on derby day as he hauled back Liel Abada as he looked to burst through on goal.

Referee John Beaton deemed the challenge only worth of a yellow card, rather than deciding it was a last-man challenge given the Celtic striker's distance from goal.

However, one caller on Clyde 1 SuperScoreboard was convinced that the 19-year-old should have been given his marching orders at Celtic Park.

Caller Gary branded the performance of Beaton "abysmal" - despite a relatively quiet afternoon for the man in the middle.

He went on to claim that the whistler had missed "a blatant red card with the last man tackle" on DIallo.

But former Rangers and Celtic striker Miller wasn't having any of it.

He said dryly: "No, it's not a red. It's a yellow.

"You can see two or three Rangers players tracking back as well.

"It's what, 30 or 40 yards away from goal? There is no way that is guaranteeing that you are denying a goal scoring opportunity.

"They probably got it right. It's cynical, there is no getting away from it, but it's not a red card."
