Amad Diallo 'open' to Rangers-style loan as Sunderland revival sparks Man United stick or twist

Amad Diallo is said to be 'open' to another loan move after his success at Sunderland this season.

The ex-Rangers loan star, who didn't hit the heights at Ibrox making less than five starts under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, has found his form with the Black Cats in the English Championship as they hope to keep their promotion play-off dreams alive. Diallo has 16 goal contributions at the Stadium of Light and has struck up a great partnership with ex-Celtic favourite Patrick Roberts.

The young Ivorian has dreams of breaking in to Manchester United's first team after the Red Devils shelved out nearly £40million for his services in 2020. Erik Ten Hag is said to be impressed with the 20-year-old but that the continent could be beckoning for another loan move for the winger.

According to the Sun, Diallo is being touted potentially for Holland, a league that has been a hotbed for talent to prove themselves. United are said to want to keep the youngster for the long-term but that another loan could prove fruitful reports Alan Nixon in his 'Boss of goss' column.

Ex-Hoops boss Tony Mowbray admitted Sunderland would relish the chance to extend Diallo's loan on Tyneside but said the ball was squarely in Ten Hag's court.

He said recently: “Man United are happy but I think the next step is for them to take him on pre-season to America. I think when the new manager came in it was right on the cusp of whether they were going to keep him or not.

“He liked some of the stuff but he maybe wasn’t sure about other things. I’m sure he’s been watching Amad’s clips from games, just as I watch all of our players who are out on loan. They know how successful the loan has been but United and Ten Hag now have to decide.

“He is playing every week, he scores, the fans love him. He has a Man U salary while playing for Sunderland. But he couldn’t come to Sunderland on a Man United salary.”
