Amad details Manchester United 'ambition' as Erik ten Hag praises four players from Wolves win

Here are your Sunday evening Manchester United headlines.

Amad's United 'ambition'

Amad says his “ambition” for next season is to get his chance at Manchester United - but he's also leaving the door open for a return to loan club Sunderland.

The striker bent in a wonderful effort from a free-kick in the Black Cats’ 2-1 Championship play-off semi-final first-leg win against Luton Town on Saturday. He had helped the club reach the top six with a goal in the final-day win over Preston, too.

The Ivorian now has 14 goals for the season having also bagged four assists. Boss Tony Mowbray has frequently waxed lyrical about Amad this season and urged Erik ten Hag against recalling him in January amid his good form.

The forward is a fan-favourite at the Stadium Of Light and has refrained from ruling out a return, although has made it clear that his primary goal is to get his shot back in the first-team at United.

Ten Hag praise

Erik ten Hag was pleased with the impact of Manchester United's substitutes against Wolves after "bad" substitutions in their recent defeats.

Ten Hag introduced Wout Weghorst for goalscorer Anthony Martial in the 69th minute before making a triple substitution by sending on Harry Maguire, Fred and Alejandro Garnacho for Raphael Varane, Christian Eriksen and Jadon Sancho.

Varane was removed as a precaution after his first appearance in 30 days, having recovered from an ankle injury, while Garnacho scored on his return after an eight-week lay-off.

Ten Hag made five changes in United's 1-0 defeat at West Ham and three changes in the loss at Brighton last week. Of the six players introduced across the two games, only Fred and Weghorst emerged against Wolves.
