Leeds United are in control of their own fate in the fight for Premier League survival but results elsewhere can certainly help the cause. Jesse Marsch's side had been deprived of luck prior to the Sunday round of fixtures but a result finally went their way when Norwich City defeated Burnley.
The relegation-threatened Clarets had picked up a crucial win in midweek before Everton, who are also fighting to stay in the Premier League, clinched a shock win over Manchester United yesterday. Leeds had done their part with a comfortable 3-0 win away at Watford and their survival hopes were given an extra boost when Norwich secured a 2-0 victory over Burnley.
Pierre Lees-Melou opened the scoring after just nine minutes before Teemu Pukki doubled the home advantage in the late stages. Both sides managed 17 shots but it was Norwich who found their clinical edge in the final third. The Canaries are in trouble themselves but as the top flight basement boys, do not pose an immediate threat to Leeds. Burnley, on the other hand, are closer to the Whites in the able but have squandered a game in hand with the defeat.

Leeds remain in 16th but have more breathing space than they did before the weekend began, sitting nine points clear of Burnley, although Sean Dyche's men have played two less games. Unsurprisingly, Leeds supporters took to social media following Norwich's win in order to celebrate the aid it has provided to their quest for Premier League safety.
@richardofyorks tweeted: "This Norwich v Burnley result means one thing. If we go down now, and we certainly shouldn’t, we will only have ourselves to blame. It’s now in our own hands. And we MUST NOT make the mistake of last summer, this time we MUST kick on. Lesson learned!"
@lufcThommo tweeted: "What a great weekend results wise in the end! Well done Norwich!"
@ChicagoWhite tweeted: "On the whole a more than decent weekend for #LUFC."
@AndyLUFC_ tweeted: "What a weekend for the mighty Whites."
@tempys01 tweeted: "Always loved Norwich. Great set of lads."
@BenClufc tweeted: "Decent weekend for us. Shame about Everton winning obviously. If we can get something, anything from our next four that would be a bonus."
