Alton Towers fans are being given a chance to be on the final ride of Nemesis before it closes.
We reported last month how the legendary roller coaster is set to close in November, much to the dismay of visitors.
Thankfully its closure is only temporary while the ride, Europe's first inverted rollercoaster, undergoes a revamp before returning in 2024.

Now theme park bosses are giving fans of the coaster - otherwise referred to as 'test specimens' - the chance to be on the very last ride, alongside its creator.
It has launched a competition to ride alongside its creative originator John Wardley, who has worked on a number of other rides at Alton Towers Resort including the Runaway Train, Haunted House, Oblivion, Hex, Air, Th13teen, and the Wicker Man.
Winners will be awarded 'a jaw-dropping prize' - for themselves and a plus one - including park access, Fastrack Gold passes, as well as a chance to meet the creator and take part in the final ride on November 6.
Kate McBirnie, head of guest excellence at Alton Towers Resort, said: “We know that a place on Nemesis’ last ride is much-coveted. It’s a moment in history for the famous ride and we can’t think of a better way to honour this occasion than giving fans the opportunity to be part of this special event. As you’d expect we will be delivering ‘thrilliant’ surprises during the day.”
Nemesis was Europe’s first inverted roller coaster when it launched in 1994 and remains one of the UK’s best-loved rollercoasters today. Riders experience 3.5 G-force as they race past the rocks and rivers of the theme park’s Forbidden Valley at speeds of up to 50mph.
Details of its transformation are being kept under wraps for now with more information to be revealed nearer the time.
If thrillseekers think they have what it takes to face Nemesis one last time, they are invited to nominate themselves as a final ride ‘test specimen’, via the website here.
From now until Halloween, visitors have more time than ever to get on the rides as they're open until 9pm as part of the Scarefest event.
The award-winning event is in its 15th year and includes everything from Scare Mazes and a CBeebies Land Monster Ball, to Trick O Treat Town, where families can wander through and knock on the doors along Spooky Avenue all the way up to the Witchy Woods - seeing how many Haribo sweets they can collect along the way.
