An "alternative" destination in Scotland, well-known for its "charming" villages and beaches, has been named one of the best dog-friendly holidays in the UK.
Affectionately known as the Kingdom of Fife, the area was named alongside locations across the country, including Holy Island in Northumberland and Dovedale in the Peak District.

Discussing the Fife Coastal Path, a route which stretches from the Firth of Forth to the Firth of Tay, the holiday website described it as a "peaceful alternative" to Scotland's more tourist-heavy areas.
The route features loads of dog-friendly beaches, including Kingsbarns and Aberdour, where they can run freely along the shore.
The path also passes through a number of "charming" seaside villages like Crail and Anstruther.

These locations are "perfect" for a day out with your furry friend, thanks to the variety of dog-friendly pubs, restaurants and cafés to explore.
Discussing the culinary options on offer, The Ship Inn in Elie, where fresh food can be enjoyed in abundance, was highlighted.
For a more "quaint" experience, travellers have been told to check out The Crail Harbour Café or The East Neuk Farm Shop near Anstruther.
