There’s a little corner of Almond Valley Heritage Centre where peace and love abounds.
In a love shack beneath the trees, families who visit the Livingston attraction can join the flower power scarecrows in games, crafts and other colourful summer fun that is a little different every day.
There may be flowers and bubbles, flags and hula-hoops, or friendly little messages written to the past and the
future.
Visitors can drop by and join in throughout the day and enjoy a lovely tranquil spot.
Percy and Ellie, members of Almond Valley’s alpaca family, were recent VIP visitors to the peace camp.
And they had a lovely time sniffing the scarecrows and gazing into the love shack before beaming out a message of peace and happiness to the world.
Director Dr Robin Chesters said: “The flower power scarecrows are just a small part of a programme of fun and adventure for the school holidays at the Almond Valley Heritage Centre in Livingston.
“In special sessions there is an opportunity to get nose-to-nose with our big Clydesdale horses, to feed the cheeky alpacas, and to enjoy a personal introduction to some of the farm’s smaller residents.”
Dr Chesters added: “In a trail through the woods you can spot some of Scotland’s strangest and silliest birds (and win a medal), while all the usual rides and play areas will be in full swing.”
Summer Adventures at Almond Valley continue daily until August 15.
