Almost 40 new homes are set to be built in a village in Carmarthenshire. Plans have been agreed for 36 houses to be constructed in Llangain, between Carmarthen and the seaside village of Llansteffan.
The development site is situated south of the B4312 and is around four miles south of Carmarthen, with easy access to the A40 which connects the western end of Carmarthenshire with Pembrokeshire. According to Pobl Group, the not-for-profit organisation behind the plans, the site will consist of mixed tenure housing, including homes for market sale, shared ownership properties and those with affordable rent. The development will also boast a mixture of different sized properties, with seven two bed houses, 24 three-bed houses and five four-bed houses. It is hoped that the site wil be completed by September 2025.
Kathryn Morris, senior project manager at Pobl Group, said: “We’re delighted to have received planning consent for this scheme, which will bring much needed high-quality and affordable housing to the local area. In line with our carbon cutting ambition at Pobl Group, I’m particularly excited to note that all of the homes on this development will benefit from air source heat pumps, providing a green source of energy for the people who will live there."
