Drugs worth almost $130 million have been seized after police targeted major international syndicates operating in southeast Queensland in a year-long operation.

Four drug laboratories have been dismantled and 44 people arrested on 241 charges as a result of the operation, which was launched in December 2022.

Police said overall 43 search warrants had been executed throughout the Brisbane, Logan and Ipswich regions, with $129 million worth of drugs seized.

Detective Inspector Brad Phelps said some of the people charged had fled the country to avoid arrest.

"These syndicates are highly co-ordinated and very proficient at what they do," he said.

"They employ a number of methodologies to try and circumvent our efforts and so it takes a lot of effort and dedication on the part of the detectives to uncover this offending and to bring these people to justice."

The haul included 119kg of methylamphetamines, 7.4kg of cocaine, 231kg of cannabis and 600 grams of MDMA.

Commercial level drug manufacturing equipment was seized along with five vehicles and $1.35 million in cash.

Among those arrested, 27 were charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs.

The final 18 search warrants were executed last week in Brisbane and Logan, resulting in 12 people charged with 61 offences.

More than $1 million worth of drugs and property was also seized.

Police said more arrests were likely.

"Certainly there's some persons of interest that we're very interested in apprehending who are situated offshore currently," Inspector Phelps said.

"But locally we've certainly done a lot to disrupt the domestic syndicate that's operating in southeast Queensland."
