Ally McCoist wouldn't let Jack Grealish near daughters after Man City Treble win

Ally McCoist has said he still wouldn't let Jack Grealish anywhere near his daughters, despite hailing the Manchester City star after Pep Guardiola's side completed the treble.

McCoist joked during last year's World Cup that he would love England midfielder Jude Bellingham as his son-in-law if he had five daughters instead of five sons, but would not let Grealish near any of them. And the former Rangers striker has doubled down on his stance after watching Grealish lead City's treble celebrations.

The former Aston Villa star, who is in a long-term relationship with model Sasha Attwood, was at the heart of the celebrations after City beat Inter Milan 1-0 in the Champions League final on Saturday. "He's really likeable and I think he probably is the most relatable, I really do," McCoist said on talkSPORT.

"Bizarrely, he's probably been helped this season by the injury to Phil Foden to a degree but he has certainly stepped up to the mark, he's been different class. I think that his game time might have been a bit more limited if Foden has been 100 per cent fit because of rotation and the way that Pep plays the players in his squad, but I think he's a breath of fresh air.

"The way he talks to people, the way you see him in the press and more importantly, the way you see him with the fans. He does a lot of stuff with people not as fortunate as himself and I think he really is relatable.

"He's a breath of fresh air and he's one of the boys that I really want to see doing well. He's got a good manner about him.

"I made the comment during the World Cup regarding Jude Bellingham, I have five sons and I was saying that if I had five daughters I'd let Jude Bellingham take them all out – I wouldn't let Jack Grealish near any of them!"

And when co-host Laura Woods asked McCoist if the fact Grealish is now a treble winner would get him to change his mind, he joked: "No, I'd actually put another lock on the pad that I would keep them in.

"But he's great. I really enjoy him as I say, he's a good watch when he plays and he's a good listen."
