Ally McCoist teases Rangers 'supporter' Kenny Dalglish but Celtic icon conjures up perfect response

Mischievous Ally McCoist was left wanting as he tried to set a Rangers trap for iconic Celtic hero Kenny Dalglish during a gag-filled sit down.

Liverpool 's iconic star met with the 60-year-old to talk about the big game at Ibrox. McCoist was baiting his great pal who grew up following the Light Blues before forging his legendary career at Parkhead. He then cemented his status as Liverpool's greatest ever player. The pair spent time together as international team-mates and have retained a strong bond for more than 30 years.

Dalglish briefly spent time with the Rangers as a scout in the 1990s but he still retains admiration from Celtic supporters due to his incredible displays during 338 appearances in green and white and remains fond of the Parkhead side by keeping a keen eye on them. Speaking on BT Sport, McCoist, embarking on a fishing trip said: "From one Rangers supporter to another, how did you see the game the other night?"

But quick-witted Dalglish fired back: "Is there somebody else in here?" And the iconic Liverpool icon was ready when McCoist came from a different angle when he asked if there was an outside chance of a blue scarf making an appearance at Ibrox. The 73-year-old wryly responded. "It would be red or green, but I will also have a sombrero on...as I'm going to Spain tomorrow."

Dalglish also talked up Allan McGregor as he shared his admiration for the Rangers goalkeeper's sterling efforts aged 40.
