Ally McCoist admits Kyogo poses a major threat to Rangers ahead of this weekend's Scottish Cup showdown - but stopped short of confessing he'd take him ahead of Alfredo Morelos.
Kyogo has been on fire for Celtic and is one short of the 30 goal mark heading into the final stretch of the season. His form has been a central part of Ange Postecoglou's rampant success and he'll be hoping to hit the net against Rangers on Sunday and keep the Treble dream alive.
McCoist and pal Chris Sutton guest star on a special Old Firm edition of Gary Neville's The Overlap podcast and they got into it over which of the main strikers are better. And while the stats are all firmly in Kyogo's favour since his arrival in Scotland, McCoist couldn't bring himself to say it.

Ally McCoist: “Celtic have somebody right now who is on fire. The wee fella’s on fire. He plays on the shoulder, he’s only interested in finishing. He’s the same as Haaland in the respect that he doesn’t really want to get involved in the game. Completely different player, I get that, but they’ll get involved, they’ll link up a little bit but he just wants to position himself for a finish, because that’s his strength and he’s very, very good at it. So Rangers’ two centre-backs are key. Goldson has to play, that’s massive.”
Chris Sutton: “Would you rather have Kyogo than Morelos as your centre-forward?”
McCoist: “Right now? Right now? Kyogo’s the one on form but it’s an impossible question to answer because Kyogo does not play for Rangers. He’s very good, he’s very good, he really is.”
Sutton: “Excellent?”
McCoist : He’s the best finisher at this moment in time in the country.
Sutton: "So you’d rather have him than Morelos?”
McCoist: “I’m paying him all sorts of compliments here. He’s the best finisher at this moment in time in the country.
Sutton: “This is why this is a great rivalry because he’ll never say it.”
McCoist: “Of course I can’t say it!”
