Beaming Ally McCoist saluted Rangers' European heroes before teasing he's ready for PSV Eindhoven AND Paris Saint-Germain.
The Ibrox icon was in a playful mood after watching his side tee up a Champions League playoff spot with the 3-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise. And he was at his devilish best as he seized upon a slight misstep from breakfast co-host Laura Woods.
The revered host stated moneybags PSG were next for Gio van Bronckhorst 's side and McCoist couldn't resist one of his trademark quips ahead of the date with destiny against Ruud Van Nistelrooy's side. Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "Next Tuesday, I will be there, absolutely, 100 per cent, I wouldn't miss it. I was just thinking as well, we could maybe play PSG as well, right after it, if you wanted to." Woods missed McCoist's one-liner and that led to the Rangers legend continuing his wind up.
He joked Woods was giving him a rubber ear and added: "I know, you weren't listening, I was looking at you, I'm watching you, you've got your head right in that other window, not listening to a word I am saying, the general public need to know what I am suffering here. This is unbelievable.
"I'm not even saying it again, but it was my best part of the show so far this morning."
McCoist was on cloud nine following the big win over the Belgians and was full of praise of a performance that improved in the second half. And he was quick to talk up a pair of start turns on another memorable night at Ibrox.
He added: “There were a few interesting individual performances I thought were impressive. Tom Lawrence, particularly in the second half was excellent. I thought Malik Tillman looked very good although he came in and out of the game but there’s certainly a player in there.”
