Jubilant Ally McCoist has Trevor Sinclair in his sights after Rangers ended their 12-year wait for a return to the Champions League.
The 59-year-old is buzzing ahead of his club's return to the richest tournament in world football with fixtures against Liverpool, Napoli and Ajax to savour. But the Rangers hero admits he's ready to jab the celebrity Celtic fan who lorded it over him after Ange Postecoglou 's side sealed automatic qualification to the group stage.
But the Rangers icon remembers the wind-up and is keen to seek revenge on Sinclair who often forms a double team with Alan Brazil when it comes to saluting the Premiership champions. Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "What time is he on tomorrow, wee Trevor? Oh, I am having a bit of him tomorrow, I remember him that night, he kept saying to me 'the Champions League is not for everybody, oh the Champions League is not for everybody, Ally'. Well I have got news for you, it's Champions League for us!"
McCoist admits he had to give his phone a swerve in the immediate aftermath of the draw which placed Gio van Bronckhorst's men in a group of illustrious company. And he reckons the both Scottish football's big two will benefit from a season mixing it with the best teams in Europe.
He added: "I swear to God, Al, within five minutes of the draw there was smoke coming out my phone man. I put it down on the mantelpiece and there was smoke billowing out of it.
"It's crazy, that's what I was saying, both of them in the Champions League for the restaurants, shops, everyone in Glasgow, it is fantastic. You've got the game on Saturday, then Real Madrid and Ajax, Liverpool games, Napoli, it is unbelievable, a long time coming."
