Rangers icon Ally McCoist is set to leave his English followers wanting and will be in attendance for his former side's blockbuster Viaplay Cup Final with Celtic.
The 60-year-old's punditry and commentary is adored beyond his homeland and has established himself as a go to guy for the biggest broadcasters in the United Kingdom. However, a potential marquee Wembley cup final between Newcastle United and Manchester United will take place without Rangers legend McCoist in attendance. The wildly popular pundit has gigs with Sky, ITV, BT Sport and Amazon Prime where he links up with Jon Champion – the commentator who he sparked a bromance with and won a new army of followers during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
And McCoist admits with the two showpiece League Cup Finals taking place on the same day he has been left with some thinking to do. Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "Well, aye that's the thing, I will be. I was supposed to be doing the Carabao Cup Final. I can only do one so I think I have to do the Scottish one. It is the 26th, is that the (likely) Manchester United vs Newcastle one?"
But he may well be getting a wave from hospitality as Celtic diehard Alan Brazil admits he is weighing up returning to his homeland to take in the thrills of the Glasgow giants duelling at the national stadium.
He added: "I could do. I have had a lovely invite."
