Ally McCoist has revealed an impeccably timed referee U-turn from fellow pundit Alan Brazil after Celtic's win over Rangers.
The Ibrox legend claims his on-air pal spent the build up to last Wednesday's derby by pestering him over the appointment of Bobby Madden as referee.
Brazil was apparently adamant his beloved Celtic get unfavourable treatment from the official.
Madden will have been thankful for a quiet evening, in terms of big decisions, as Ange Postecoglou's side swept to the top of the Premiership with a commanding 3-0 win over the champions.
After full-time, McCoist's phone lit up again - but this time the tone of the message was apparently very different.
McCoist said on talkSPORT: "I'm doing the commentary for the Old Firm game last Wednesday night at Celtic Park and my phone goes.
"It's obviously big Brazil.
"'I can't believe it,' he says. 'The referee, Bobby Madden, he never gives us anything.'
"He reels off all these statistics about free-kicks, yellow cards and goals.
"The final whistle blows and the text comes through: 'What a game that Bobby Madden had!'
"Brilliant, absolutely brilliant."
