Ally McCoist names Rangers transfer that's pleased him and what Michael Beale needs next at Ibrox

Ally McCoist has named the Rangers summer transfer he is 'happy' with as he admitted at least TWO strikers are still needed.

The Light Blues hero was talking on the talkSPORT breakfast show in a discussion with Celtic-daft rocker Rod Stewart as the Maggie May singer asked the pundit if he had belief in Michael Beale. It was an obvious answer from the one-time Ibrox gaffer who replied 'absolutely' before naming one key part of Ianis Hagi's game that is keeping him from being 'absolutely top class'.

It's been a busy summer to date for Rangers who have secured the pre-contract signings of trio Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling and Jack Butland. Sam Lammers is set to join from Atalanta in Serie A imminently while Cyriel Dessers and Jose Cifuentes are two other names that have been interesting the men from Govan.

Speaking live on air on his belief in Beale, McCoist said: "I have, absolutely. Big window for us coming up.

"Signed Jack Butland which I'm happy about, it's a similar signing I think to you boys signing [Joe] Hart.

"I still think we need two centre forwards, at least."

On Hagi, McCoist added: "I think [Ianis] Hagi is half a yard short of being absolutely top class.

"I think if he was half a yard quicker he wouldn't be with us."
