ALLY MCCOIST has urged the Ibrox faithful to be at their best tonight to cheers on Rangers against Union Saint-Gilloise.
The Light Blues trail 2-0 at the half-way point in the Champions League qualifier.
They have home advantage for the second-leg in Glasgow tonight, though.
Last season's run to the Europa League final showed how raucous an atmosphere Ibrox can have when the fans are on side.
And McCoist says the club's fans will need to be on top form once again to help Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men.
Asked what the Rangers crowd can be like on a European night, he told talkSPORT: "The best - it's going to have to be tonight because the boys are up against it.
"Last season, I've heard the old stadium with some atmospheres. But the atmosphere in their last season, particularly against Leipzig when the boys knocked them out the semi-finals, it was amazing.
"It's going to have to be like that again tonight. Get the boys all up for it.
"It will be extremely difficult but we're not without a chance.
"To have European football throughout the season, there's something magical about it. Tuesday or Wednesday nights under the lights.
"Obviously there bread and butter is important but when you get a European night it gives the guys and girls something to look forward to, it's hugely important."
