Former Scotland international Ally McCoist has suggested it is looking 'increasingly likely' Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool as he is yet to agree terms on a contract extension.
The Egyptian's current deal expires in 2023 but the lack of a breakthrough has already resulted in numerous links to other European clubs such as Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
As the situation rumbles on, McCoist says Liverpool 'cannot overstep the mark' with regards to the player's wages. He also highlights the knock-on effect a bumper new deal could have on the rest of their squad.

“It is looking increasingly like he will leave,” the pundit told TEAMtalk. “I think we have reached a stage where Liverpool are saying they can’t overstep this mark that they can’t really go to [on wages] and it looks like it is a stalemate.
“How much will it cost for Liverpool to replace Mo Salah, that’s a question. Then the flip side of the coin, if Mo Salah gets what he wants, will three or four other players be knocking on the door [for a pay rise]?
"So Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have a balancing situation here."
Salah has previously opened up on the negotiations but insisted he is 'not asking for crazy stuff' amid reports he was looking for close to £400,000 per week.
"I want to stay, but it's not in my hands. It's in their hands. I'm not asking for crazy stuff," he told GQ earlier this year. "I've been here for my fifth year now. I know the club very well. I love the fans. The fans love me.
"But with the administration, they have [been] told the situation. It's in their hands."
