Ally McCoist confronts Celtic and Rangers trolling from Shay Given and calls out a pundit who's been 'bumping his gums'

A vengeful Ally McCoist got the chance to confront Celtic fan Shay Given over his relentless ribbing following Rangers' horror show at Parkhead.

McCoist revealed earlier this week that Given and Robbie Keane had been the first to bombard him with cheeky texts after his beloved team were battered 3-0 at the home of their great rivals.

And the Rangers legend took the opportunity to have a bite back as the former Ireland goalkeeper joined him live on air.

McCoist insisted Given and Keane had set a "world record", such was their eagerness to wind up their Rangers-supporting pal over the result.

McCoist joked on talkSPORT: "The pea hadn't stopped rolling about in the referee's whistle, and Shay and Robbie Keane had been on the phone to me, there's no need for that!

"I don't bask in my own team's success anything like that. I knew I would get a bit from the lads, but not that quickly, that was a world record.

"But I said before, your team were excellent, particularly in the first-half."

McCoist wasn't finished there, however.

He went on to call out fellow talkSPORT pundit and Celtic fan Trevor Sinclair for "bumping his gums" over the past week.

McCoist laughed: "Another one worth a mention is that wee Sinclair.

"He was bumping his gums as well, he was another one that gave me a message!"

Given had travelled to Celtic Park as a fan to watch Ange Postecoglou 's side knock their rivals from top spot in the Premiership.

And he said: "I really enjoyed it, I've not been to an Old Firm and up to Glasgow for a while, to be honest.

"I wasn't working - wasn't doing media or anything. I got the train up, met some friends before, during and after.

"I had the experience of a fan again, you could just relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

"Parkhead was absolutely bouncing, as you could see. You (McCoist) might've needed security to get out of there.

"It was a great night for Celtic fans, Rangers fans a probably cursing at the radio if they're listening!

"It was a big turn in the league table as well. You'll probably be texting me when the Ibrox game comes round in a few weeks - depending on the result of course!"
