Ally McCoist has opened up on the contract situation surrounding Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent as he called for a 'definitive' answer.
The Rangers duo are in the final months of deals with Michael Beale revealing NO Ibrox star who is heading out of contract in the summer has been offered fresh terms. That list includes the key pair and the likes of Ryan Jack, Filip Helander and veteran pair Steven Davis and Allan McGregor.
McCoist has used Arsenal as an example and how 'extremely critical' he was over letting key players run down contracts and says he could NOT be any different should Rangers let Morelos and Kent leave for no money at all. The Ibrox hero is adamant new deals should have been dealt with well before now and he has confirmed he would have handed fresh offers to BOTH players.

Speaking on Scottish Football Extra alongside Darrell Currie and Celtic hero Chris Sutton on BT Sport, he explained: "I think you're just about by the stage when you need a definitive from them.
"You needed a definitive from them if not at the start of the season then by the break and the last window.
"For a man who was extremely critical of a club like Arsenal for letting Ozil and Ramsey go for nothing, I couldn't be anything different in terms of my own club if you were to lose two players of that quality for no money at all.
"Particularly when there were allegedly good offers on the table, particularly for Morelos. It looks as though now they're going to be allowed to leave the club for nothing which is hardly ideal."
He continued: "There has definitely been an improvement in [Morelos'] level of performance since Michael Beale came in.
"But to balance that it's nothing like the consistent level of performances he was putting in early on in the early Europa League results - when he was excellent and scored some fantastic goals.
"Kent, I can certainly understand a new contract on offer however I think he should have been dealt with before now, as should Morelos really.
"But to answer the question yes, I would have offered Morelos a new contract."
Speaking yesterday on the contract situation, Beale explained: “All the players that are out of contract – no one has been offered one. Not one player has had an offer put to them. No one has had a discussion where we’ve said, ‘we’ll offer you this and this’. Why? When I came in it was a little bit uncertain on one or two and I wanted to see the season through.
"That doesn't mean I haven't spoken to the players. At the moment they're focused, working hard and getting on with it.
"But we've not formally made an offer to any of the players who are out of contract because I want to see certain things against certain opponents at certain levels to make sure they can be part of it going forward. That's where we're at. I've made the decisions I want to make.
