Allerton Road was closed tonight after reports of a man on the roof of the bay window of a property.
Police, fire and ambulance service crews were at the scene on the major road, in Allerton, while the incident was being dealt with.
It led to the closure of the road, with a number of witnesses reporting a large emergency services scene close to the GoLocal shop near the junction with Hillside Road.

Police received a report at around 8.20pm that the man was on the roof of a first floor bay window.
They closed the road to deal with the incident, and a police spokesperson said the man was "fully cooperating."
A spokesperson from Merseryside Fire and Rescue Service said: "Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called to Allerton Road, on Thursday, February 17, following concerns for safety of an individual.
"Crews were alerted shortly before 8.30pm. Two fire engines attended as well as the search and rescue team and an aerial appliance.
"Fire crews liaised with police on scene. One person was assessed at the scene by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.
"Fire crews left the scene at 9.51pm and handed the incident over to Merseyside Police."
