Allergy alert for Card Factory Easter eggs as key ingredients not mentioned on label

A Card Factory bag of Easter eggs has been pulled from shelves after potential deadly ingredients were not written in English on the ingredients label.

Those with allergies to milk, soya or peanuts are warned not to eat the chocolate eggs, which come in a brightly coloured bag, due to the health risk.

A warning from charity Allergy UK has been issued which reads: "The Card Factory is recalling Happy Easter Egg Hunt bag because it contains milk, peanuts, and soya which are not listed in English on the label.

"The product also states that it may contain cereals containing gluten, egg, and other nuts.

"This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts, peanuts and/or soya, and/or an allergy or intolerance to cereals containing gluten, egg and/or milk or milk constituents.

"If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to nuts, peanuts and/or soya, and/or an allergy or intolerance to cereals containing gluten, egg and/or milk or milk constituents do not eat it.

"Instead, return it to a Card Factory store for a full refund."

The Egg Hunt Bag (Card Factory)

The Card Factory has apologised and recalled the product which they say was on sale both in store and online between Friday, February 24 and Monday, March 6, with a best before date of January 2024.

The company's notice reads: "The ingredients list on the packaging of some of these products may have been incorrectly printed only in Polish.

"As this product contains peanuts, milk and soy; and may contain other nuts, eggs, and cereals containing gluten, it is a possible health risk to anyone with a specific allergy or intolerance to these ingredients.

"As a precautionary measure, please do not consume and return the product to a Card Factory store, where you will be given a full refund.

"For further enquires please contact customerservice@cardfactory.co.uk

"Please do not consume. Thank you for your cooperation.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
