Self-proclaimed “world’s best sex coach for men” Stirling Cooper has been slammed for his terrible, unnecessary and cooked advice on women’s fashion for first dates.
Another day, another random dude is out here spouting some random ass shit about dating. Honestly, every time someone does this, I get flashbacks to all the out-of-pocket doo-doo Jay would say about sex and women on the Inbetweeners. IYKYK.
This time around, former adult-entertainment-performer-turned-sex-coach Stirling Cooper has come under fire for chucking in his two cents about what women should wear on a first date.
Speaking on the Frankifyy podcast, Cooper reckons women shouldn’t wear jeans on a first date, revealing it’s one of his boundaries because it’s the “least feminine” thing we could wear.
“I hate when women wear jeans on a date. It’s like the least feminine thing I can think of,” he said.
“I would say before we meet up ‘don’t wear jeans’. If you wear jeans, I’m going home. Pretty clear.”
Following that golden piece of advice that I’m so going to follow on my next Hingecapade (sarcasm), he added that he doesn’t like when women drink too much alcohol.
“I will stop a woman from drinking if I think she’s had too much to drink,” Cooper continued.
“She’s had one drink. Two drinks. She’s having way too much and then she goes to order another one. I will tell her. I will stop the waiter and be like, ‘No you’re not getting her a drink, get her a water instead.'”
The world’s best sex coach for men — allegedly — then said that when he tells a woman to drink water rather than alcohol, it’s kinda like a “dad disciplining his daughter”.
“I’ve literally had verbatim from woman say, like after that has happened, verbatim they have said ‘that was the sexiest a guy’s ever done’,” he claimed.
This particular snippet of the hour-long podcast was shared on Instagram, where it apparently went gangbusters. It’s since been mysteriously removed (wonder why), but not before the backlash was picked up by publications around the world.
“He doesn’t like jeans on a date? Well, I don’t like misogyny and daddy-related control issues on a date,” one person commented under the snippet, per New York Post.
“Did he really say that he’s giving his date the father-daughter treatment? Ew,” another listener wrote.
“I signed up for a date, not an adoption interview with a man who thinks he can be my dad,” wrote a third.
As a woman who is writing this story in jeans, I absolutely agree with the commenters. Like one, who cares if someone is wearing jeans and two, the drinks????
Like imagine pulling up to a first date, looking incredible in a pair of denim blue jeans, and the bloke is already giving you the side-eye. As you try to navigate the date, you order a drink and then he stops you from doing so. Sounds like hell to me!
Cooper may be the “best sex coach for men” (allegedly), but I think he needs a lesson or two when it comes to dating and treating women with respect.
