Alleged US fugitive accused of threatening Glasgow hospital medics fails in bail motion bid

An alleged fugitive sex offender has failed in a bail motion bid despite claiming he is receiving insufficient oxygen levels while remanded at prison in Scotland.

The man, who says he is Arthur Knight, is believed by prosecutors to be Nicholas Rossi, a rape suspect in the United States.

He has been charged with acting aggressively towards a consultant and senior charge nurse at Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH).

At a hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, he told Sheriff Mark O'Hanlon that he "was not and had never been known" as Nicholas Rossi.

Representing himself at the diet on Tuesday, he asked the sheriff to intervene as prison staff kept referring to him as Rossi.
