A woman has been charged over the road death of a 55-year-old motorcyclist earlier this year.
Julie Elizabeth Fallon's case briefly appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday, nearly six months after the Torrens man died in hospital.
But the 52-year-old woman, who was issued with a summons rather than arrested and placed on bail, was not required to be present.
Emergency services attended the incident on Athllon Drive, Wanniassa, in the early morning of May 23 after a collision between a motorcycle and a red Mitsubishi Outlander travelling in opposite directions.
According to police, the man was taken to hospital in a serious condition but died as a result of his injuries two days later.
Fallon is facing charges of culpable driving causing death and negligent driving occasioning death.
The woman has also been charged in relation to having a clear view of the road and traffic ahead, behind and to each side as a driver.
In May, ACT Policing reported the deceased man became the territory's fifth road fatality. That number has since grown to nine, including five motorbike riders.
The circumstances of the crash were subsequently investigated by the major collision team.
A Legal Aid lawyer asked for a two-week adjournment so instructions could be obtained from Fallon.
The case is set to return to court later this month.
