A hacker group is allegedly attempting to sell millions of people's data, potentially including Australians, after hacking a ticketing giant.
Online posts purporting to be from a hacking group known as ShinyHunters is advertising the sale of 560 million users' stolen data, claiming it hacked ticketing giant Ticketmaster, owned by Live Nation.
The posts advertise the sale of the details, totalling 1.3 terabytes, and including credit card information, for $US500,000 ($A750,000).
Cybersecurity industry publication CyberDaily reported a sample of the data, including credit card details, had been included in a post advertising the sale.
It is not yet known if Australian customers have been exposed.
Australia's Department of Home Affairs has confirmed it was working with Ticketmaster to understand a cybersecurity incident, the ABC reported.
