Alleged Melbourne underworld boss Fadi Haddara will fight fresh firearms charges.

Haddara faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday when his lawyer, gangland barrister Zarah Garde-Wilson, told Magistrate Adriano Serratore her client would contest the charges in their entirety.

Haddara has been charged with a total of five offences including possessing unregistered firearms, possessing firearms while prohibited from doing so, handling an allegedly stolen Glock handgun and affray.

Police allege he committed the affray at Altona North in November 2022, while the rest of the charges are from September that year.

Haddara was on bail and had to report to police three times a week, surrender his passport, stay in Victoria, reside at his address, not contact witnesses or any co-accused and abide by a curfew between 11pm and 6am, the court was told.

The magistrate did not read a summary of the allegations against Haddara.

Haddara's case is due to return for a contest mention on March 12.
