Kieran Salkeld and Jake Duffy named as alleged attempted murder victims

Two alleged attempted murder victims have been named after the fatal shooting of Elle Edwards.

The 26-year-old died after being shot at the Lighthouse pub in Wallasey, Wirral, on Christmas Eve. Merseyside Police subsequently confirmed that she had not been the intended target of the shooting.

Chapman, of Houghton Road in Woodchurch, was charged with her murder overnight. The 22-year-old was brought before Wirral Magistrates' Court this morning, Friday.

Sporting long, wavy brown hair and wearing a grey, prison issue tracksuit while flanked by two security officers in the dock, he spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and said he was of no fixed address during a brief, three-minute hearing. Magistrates remanded him into custody ahead of a further appearance before Liverpool Crown Court on Monday.

Chapman was not asked to enter a plea to the murder charge or counts of attempted murder against Kieran Salkeld and Jake Duffy. Similarly, he was not asked to enter pleas to charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent in which the alleged victims were named as Harry Loughran, Nicholas Speed and Liam Carr.

The defendant also faces counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life, namely a Skorpion submachine gun and 9mm short 0.380 auto/acp calibre ammo. A further charge of handling stolen goods states he was in possession of a stolen 19-plate Mercedes A-Class between December 22 and Boxing Day last year.
