A recent report by a Russian state news agency sheds light on the purported confession of one of the individuals apprehended in connection with the attack on the Crocus City Hall complex. The report includes details from a brief video in which a man, with a bloodied bandaged head, identifies himself as a 30-year-old and speaks in halting Russian.
During the interrogation, the man was asked about the whereabouts of the weapons used in the attack. His response indicated a lack of knowledge, directing authorities to inquire with his associates who might have more information.
The news agency also shared images of three of the alleged attackers post-detainment, aligning with videos circulated on unofficial platforms showing the men being captured in the Bryansk region. Notably, no visual content of the fourth suspect has been disseminated by Russian state media.
In an accompanying commentary, the news agency highlighted that the alleged attackers exhibited poor Russian language skills, with one individual resorting to speaking in Tajik through an interpreter. Additionally, one of the suspects claimed to have been promised a substantial sum of money, initially cited as half a million rubles, to carry out the assault.
Further revelations from the report indicated that one of the suspects had recently returned from Turkey, and the group resided together in a Moscow hostel. Interestingly, two of the individuals had only met a mere 10-12 days before the incident. The vehicle utilized for the attack and subsequent escape was reportedly acquired through a familial connection.
Despite the information gathered from the interrogations, the news agency noted a lack of clarity regarding the motives and connections among the suspects, emphasizing the challenge in piecing together a coherent narrative surrounding the tragic event.
It is essential to acknowledge that the veracity of the news agency's report and the statements attributed to the alleged attacker remain unverified, raising concerns about the circumstances under which the information was disclosed.
