Harness the crowd
As the Leeds United players headed for the tunnel after their warm-ups, they went out of their way to make sure the away support knew it was being heard. The entire team ran away from the tunnel and around the back of the practice goals to applaud the Leeds faithful at that end of the ground.
“You’re just a ---- Kalvin Phillips!”
The running joke when Leeds play West Ham United in recent years has centred on England’s Declan Rice vs Kalvin Phillips debate. One of Leeds’ favourite sons has long since departed the club, but as Rice wheeled away from one wayward drive at goal, the away support was only too willing to remind him he’s got nothing on the Manchester City midfielder.
Celebrating moments
For every block and tackle made in and around their own box, Leeds were a few notches short of celebrating like they had scored. Pascal Struijk was embraced by Max Wober for showing Jarrod Bowen to the byline before being body checked by Luke Ayling with the same vigour.

Ayling would make a similar intervention with Rice a few moments later and get the same reaction from his team-mates.
Checking on Bamford
The latest passage in Patrick Bamford’s recent, difficult story was an early injury in Sunday’s game. As he trudged off for the tunnel, captain Liam Cooper leapt out of the dugout to check in on the striker as he made for the dressing room.
Allardyce anger
After the full-time whistle, as the penny began to drop for the players on what the result meant, the very few fans left waiting were expecting some kind of interaction. While Allardyce went over fairly quickly with his hands clapping above his head, not all of the players were as quick to go over.
The likes of Illan Meslier, Max Wober and Rasmus Kristensen were spotted going over to give away shirts and gloves, but there were some players dawdling. Allardyce was seen frantically waving at Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville to get over to the away support immediately.
There’s every chance the pair were going over to the away support anyway, but Allardyce called for some urgency from the youngsters in getting over to those who had paid to be there with their time and money.
Allardyce's 'bribe'
At one point during the game, Allardyce was spotted playfully offering cash to fourth official Andy Madley, much to assistant head coach Karl Robinson's amusement on the touchline.
