Allan Saint-Maximin's praise for Eddie Howe after Newcastle United boss turned club around

Allan Saint-Maximin says that the mentality Eddie Howe has brought to the table at Newcastle United will help the club turn the corner this season.

United have lost just one game but have proved to be draw specialists so far this term. And while bad VAR calls have hardly helped matters for Howe and co, Saint-Maximin has confidence things will change for the better.

The winger said: "The manager is trying to help the team a lot. He’s changed everything, he’s changed the mentality, changed the training and we can see everything start to work. We just need to keep going, to listen and we will see what will happen."

Saint-Maximin was in fantastic form before his injury and was also asked in a press huddle about his chances of getting to the World Cup. Speaking before the final French squad before the World Cup was announced, Saint-Maximin said: "Yeah, I always think about many things to be honest. I’m really focused, I know what my team are capable to do and I know what I am capable to do.

"We need to do that every week and if we do that every week, I don’t really care about what will happen because I know we will finish in a very good position."
