Allan Saint-Maximin says he will be 'back very soon' after missing Newcastle United's FA Cup third round tie against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough due to illness.
The French winger was a surprise omission from Eddie Howe's squad, as there was no indication of the illness during Friday's pre-match press conference.
Saint-Maximin has been plagued by injuries this term, and has started just once for the Magpies in all competitions since August. He was introduced three minutes from time in Newcastle's goalless draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Monday.
However, Saint-Maximin has been quick to reassure Newcastle supporters that his absence won't be a long term issue.

The 25-year-old posted a story on his official Instagram account with the caption: "Always behind you guys. I will be back very soon."
Saint-Maximin missed the best part of two months due to two separate muscle injuries, and has been slow to return to the fold since his recovery.
He admitted during the World Cup break that he no longer expects to be an automatic pick under Howe. Joelinton has further showcased his incredible versatility by filling the void expertly on the left wing, while all of Saint-Maximin's last six Premier League appearances have come from the bench.
