However, they say money isn't a key factor as he plots the next chapter of his career.
It's been reported that Giovanni van Bronckhorst could be poised to name Jon McLaughlin as his new No1 next season - leaving McGregor as the back-up option if he stayed on.
That would allow him more time to explore coaching opportunities but McGregor is keen to continue playing in the role as a first-choice.
