Allan McGregor could yet remain at Rangers and the club will this week hold talks with two more of its key players.
Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson is scheduled to sit down with Leon Balogun and hold further discussions with Steven Davis over the coming days with the influential trio all out of contract in the coming weeks.
McGregor has indicated he wants to take time before he makes a decision on his playing career.
The 40-year-old, who made a cameo appearance in the Scottish Cup win over Hearts, was Rangers No.1 last season and a massive figure in their run to the Europa League Final.
McGregor is set to speak with his family and then decide if he is to play on or hang up his gloves.
The futures of Balogun and Davis will be addressed first, though.
Defender Balogun played the entire 120 minutes in the weekend Scottish Cup triumph over Hearts.
The Nigerian international, who has been at Ibrox two seasons, made more than 35 appearances for the Light Blues last season and at times was a key defensive figure.
Balogun, 33, has been a big player for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The other issue Rangers have is fellow defender Connor Goldson is also out of contract.
They have been unable to agree terms on a new deal for Goldson, 29, which could leave them short of defensive options, although John Souttar will come in this summer from Hearts.
The Ibrox side were in talks with Davis’ future before the Europa and Scottish Cup Finals but they were put on hold until those games were played.
The record-capped Northern Irish international, 37, would be keen to keep playing and is unlikely to be short of offers, with Motherwell and St Mirren interested, if he doesn’t agree a new Ibrox deal.
