All you need to know about the Microbotox technique

Microbotox also called Mesobotox or Microtox is the latest innovation in skin rejuvenation techniques. This treatment takes Botox fillers a step ahead and has made it even more specific. While traditional Botox treatment is used to counter crow’s feet, glabellar lines, and forehead furrows; Microbotox is a treatment that aims to improve the skin.

It is, in simple terms, a new-generation technique in which tiny amounts of Botox is practically sprinkled all over the patient’s face.

What is Microbotox?

Microbotox or Mesobotox is a cosmetic procedure that works to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and as a result, renders the skin looking younger and smoother. The technique is also used to reduce pore size and thus decrease oil production and facial sweating, this mainly helps people who have acne-prone skin.

The procedure is the same as Botox in the way that the skin is injected with botulinum toxin injections. But what differentiates Microbotox from the usual Botox treatment is that in this a microneedle is used with a small amount of diluted Botox. The Botox is injected in a wider distribution throughout the face, usually in the T-zone. In the traditional Botox treatment, the Botox is injected into the muscle layer but in Microbotox, the chemical is injected into the skin, just below the epidermis and this is what gives facial smoothness, smaller pores, and reduced sweating effect.

Microbotox treatment is not permanent and the skin will gradually return to original state within 3-6 months at which point the patient can choose to repeat the treatment.

Here are a few things you must know before you opt for this treatment

1. It is a fast procedure

The procedure being specific in nature is very fast. You won’t need to clear up the whole day for it. It is usually wrapped up in 30-45 mins.

2. Avoid Microbotox if Botox didn’t work for you

The treatment might be different than traditional Botox but the basic nature of the procedure is the same wherein the same chemical is being injected into the skin. If you have previously tried Botox and it has not worked for you or given you allergic reactions, you should stay away from Microbotox as well.

3. It is normal to experience mild redness post-treatment

Mild redness is absolutely normal after the procedure. The redness usually subsides within a couple of hours. If the redness or swelling persists after a couple of hours or if you experience any other symptoms out of the usual, notify the doctor immediately.

4. Minimally invasive, highest patient satisfaction

Among the many other cosmetic skin treatments available, Microbotox is minimally invasive and has shown high patient satisfaction. Since this is a low-risk treatment, it has been slowly gaining popularity globally. In addition to reducing facial pore size, improvement of skin texture and oiliness was also observed in just one session of Microbotox.

So, if you’re looking for a treatment that will directly tackle your pores, reduce fine lines, and give you visibly smooth skin, Microbotox may the ideal choice for you. Like for any other treatment, make sure you consult a dermatologist before going ahead with the procedure and also choose a certified cosmetic surgeon to conduct the procedure.
