A mother-of-two has died after she was stabbed multiple times in a house in Dublin on Tuesday afternoon.
The woman, aged in her 50s, was found dead at 3:30pm with stab wounds in Sandyhill Gardens, Ballymun.
The body of the woman has been removed to the City Morgue, Whitehall.
No arrests have been made at the moment with gardai remaining at the scene tonight.
A garda spokesperson said: "The scene is currently preserved and the Garda Technical Bureau are conducting a technical examination. The services of the Office of the State Pathologist have been requested. A post mortem will be carried out by the Chief State Pathologist Linda Mulligan tomorrow Wednesday 11th May, 2022.
An incident room has been established at Ballymun Garda Station under the direction of a Senior Investigating Officer. A family liaison officer has been appointed to the family of the deceased.
Investigating Gardaí continue to have an open mind in the direction of this investigation.
